Craig donates winnings to girl who needs operation

Big Brother winner Craig says he is donating his £70,000 cheque so an 18-year-old girl can receive a heart and lung transplant in the US.

He was greeted outside the house compound by a tearful Joanne Harris, his best friend's cousin, who cannot get the transplant in the UK.

Craig, from Seaforth, Merseyside, said: "We need £250,000. We've been saving for a couple of years and we've got absolutely nowhere near it. All the money I have earned here is going towards it. "

Craig was presented with his winner's cheque by former fellow housemate "Nasty" Nick Bateman.

Craig earlier told presenter Davina McCall that he was nervous about what he was about to encounter when he got out of the house.

He said he clicked straight away with Claire but that the other housemates were all great people.

He said he'd miss Big Brother shouting at him every morning and he thought his time was up every time he'd been nominated.

Before leaving the house, he took host Davina on a tour during which they jumped into Claire's bed. He chose the unicycle as a souvenir.
