Plans underway for Big Brother 2

Plans are already underway for a second series of Big Brother but Channel 4 could face competition for the right to broadcast it.

The channel, which beat off rival Channel 5 for the right to show the first series, has an option on the second series but has yet to secure a deal.

Broadcast magazine reports that sources close to the show predict heavy interest from other channels able to pay big money for the rights to the show which has become must-see television.

Sources at Endemol Entertainment, the company which owns the rights to Big Brother, say bosses would prefer to keep the series on terrestrial TV in order to give it more exposure.

Channel 4 has also announced it will be moving the late-night editions of the programme from 11pm to 10pm from next week.
