Florist replaces 'Nasty Nick' in Big Brother house' Nasty Nick' Bateman has been replaced in the Big Brother household by a woman. Claire, a florist from Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, joined the remaining five contestants inside the house at about 7.30pm. A Channel 4 spokeswoman said they were not told who was to join them, or when. Three people from the original shortlist of contestants were interviewed over the past 24 hours in the quest to find a replacement for former stockbroker NIck, who was ordered from the purpose-built house in east London on Thursday night after flouting rules which forbade tactical voting. He forfeited his chance to scoop the £70,000 jackpot which will go to the last remaining tenant when it was discovered he had smuggled paper and a pencil into the sealed-off house, showing notes to the other competitors in a bid to influence their votes on who should leave. His eviction, televised on Friday night, attracted 6.9 million viewers, 42% of the TV watching public. And 10 million people logged on to the website on Thursday to see the household's showdown with Nick, live on the internet. The choice of Claire as his replacement balances out the ratio of sexes remaining in the show. Claire, whose surname is not being released, had to be rushed into the household without seeing her baby brother, who was born this afternoon. But she said tonight: "I'm really looking forward to being part of Big Brother - I know it will be a great laugh and an experience I will never forget. "I'm a bit sad that I still haven't met my little baby brother who was born this afternoon but this is a great opportunity and I will see him when I get out." To give Claire a fighting chance, she will have a week's amnesty in which she cannot be evicted or be able to vote out anyone else.
