BART -THE WINNER

23 year old Bart Spring in't Veld was a soldier who had just reached the end of his army contract when he saw the advert for Big Brother. Motivated by the prize money and an ambition to become rich and famous, Bart's chiselled good looks won many female fans.

SABINE

26 year old Sabine Wendel is a freelance stylist who frequently sports braided hair and enjoys fitness training. Sabine developed a close relationship with Bart during their stay in the house which culminated in a night of passion which was witnessed by over 3 million Dutch viewers.

RUUD

44 years old, Ruud Benard was a masseuse for a women's cycling team. Ruud had a huge fan base amongst the viewers who saw him as an archetypally Dutch character and most people thought that he would be the winner. There were even banners outside the house reading "Ruud for President".

TARA

20 year old Tara van den Bergh was a shoe salesperson who lived with her boyfriend in Amsterdam when she applied to take part in Big Brother. Life in the house was hard for her and she left voluntarily after 10 days, missing her friends and regular supplies of chips

MAURICE

25 year old Maurice de Back is a good-looking, well-spoken rather flirty car salesman. He has a girlfriend but while in the house developed a close relationship with Karin which lead to intense media speculation. However they both claimed it was nothing more than a platonic friendship

KARIN

39 year old Karin van Elswijk has been married for 20 years and has 4 children. She applied for Big Brother as a joke at the suggestion of her 14 year old son. She was interested to know how her family would cope without her. Karin became the mother figure and was the last woman to remain in the house.

MARTIN

28 year old Martin Jonkman was an air-conditioning salesman.

Martin was the first to be evicted from the house after trying to spread the rumour that Bart, his rival for Sabine's affections, was gay.

BIANCA

25 year old Bianca Plune is an intelligent, stylish, probation officer with a large intricate tattoo covering her back.. Fellow house guests claim that she was better at solving other people's problems than her own. Bianca left the house voluntarily.

WILLEM

37 year old Willem Boomsma is divorced with 2 kids. He's a great cook and quickly became the main house chef. Martin was one of the last three people to be left in the house but fell at the last hurdle when viewers lost sympathy with him after he nominated his closest friend Ruud for eviction.

MONA

Mona is married with 2 children. She tried and failed to smuggle a mobile phone into the house. She feels that she has become famous since Big Brother and is often recognised on the street. She used to work in a bar but now writes a regular column in a gay magazine. She took part for the attention and excitement.
