A bookie has paid out £500 after the first couple slipped between the sheets in Channel 4 show Big Brother. Former sex aids saleswoman Caroline has cuddled up to builder Craig. Offshore bookmaker Victor Chandler International has honoured a £20 bet at odds of 25-1 that the pair would be the first in bed together - although a hug was as intimate as they got. Their clinch has been seen by thousands who logged on to watch the action live on the internet. A Big Brother spokeswoman said: "They got up quite late and Craig got into Caroline's bed while she was in there. They were being cuddly but not in a 'we're sleeping together way'." A spokesman for the bookmaker said of the punter: "This guy obviously thought Caroline was a sure bet. He placed what is called a 'banker' on her. "He had three separate bets, all involving her but three different blokes. And one of his flutters came up trumps." Caroline's bedroom encounter with Craig will be seen in an update on Channel 4 tonight. Volunteers in the house - who spent nearly two-thirds of their weekly rations budget - are again appealing for more drink. They have asked the Big Brother that controls the experiment if they can have further supplies in readiness for Andrew's birthday on Monday.
