HOW THE GAME WORKS

Ten contestants, who have never met before, live together in a house with 24 cameras watching their every move around the clock. Viewers are able to watch events in the house on tv and can watch the action live on the internet.

While they are in the house they will have no contact with the outside world – no telephones, television, radio or newspapers.

Every week one person will be ejected from the house. The occupants themselves will nominate two of their group for eviction, with the television viewers and internet surfers making the final decision. Eventually one person will emerge as the winner and will receive a prize of £70,000.

In the house no doors are locked, the contestants are free to leave at any time, but if they do they walk away empty-handed.

Conditions inside the house are basic, but occupants earn money to supplement their rations if they all successfully complete weekly assignments. These are designed to test their team spirit and can be set by the viewers.

During the nine weeks that Big Brother is on air, occupants will stay in the house day and night until they are evicted. Interruption of this stay is not possible.
