be off Big Brother ![]() Lee ... spurned Sophie to keep girlfriend Picture: STEVE LEWIS By SIMON
HUGHES EVICTED Big Brother hunk Lee Davey
celebrates being able to cheer on England’s footie heroes and admits:
"My interest in the house was flagging."
Lee, 22 - voted out on Friday -
told The Sun: "I wanted to be evicted because I’d had enough and I
was desperate to watch the World Cup.
"But I never expected to come
out and see England beat Denmark three nil. It took away any
disappointment I may have felt leaving the house."
Lee, from Leicester, said he had
been "gutted" at missing our clashes with Sweden, Argentina and
Nigeria.
And he revealed the housemates had
been fooled by a hoaxer who chucked over a tennis ball bearing the words
"Beckham’s injured".
Lee, Spencer and PJ had begged Big
Brother to let them see games, but were turned down.
He watched England for the first
time as a free man on Saturday at his London hotel, with brother Peter,
16, and best mate Liam.
Lee said: "The game was
brilliant.
"It was a fantastic feeling
watching the lads win - being on Big Brother means I will never take
things like watching England for granted again."
He added: "It was the hardest
thing in the world knowing that we were stuck in the house while the whole
world was seeing England.
"We did our bit to support
them but we thought Beckham was out because someone chucked over a ball
saying he was injured."
Housemates found out England had
drawn 1-1 with Sweden when The Sun and Carling flew a plane over with a
banner displaying the score.
They got another result when fans
yelled the England v Argentina score over the wall.
Delighted Lee and PJ declared it
the happiest moment in the house.
The housemates were allowed to
watch the first 35 minutes of the England Nigeria game after the girls
performed a football task.
Lee said: "We were amazed
Beckham was playing because we thought he was injured.
"It was good to see a bit of
the game, but we had to rely on people beeping their horns to Lee was evicted after going
head-to-head with fireman Jonny Regan, 29, in the public vote.
He got 1,111,700 votes - 84 per
cent of the 1,204,346 cast.
