THE bars have come down in Big Brother - splitting the house into heaven and hell.

Five of the housemates — Sophie, Lee, Sandy, Kate and Jonny — are living like kings with loads to eat and drink and plenty of home comforts.

The others — Alex, Adele, Spencer, Jade and PJ — have basic rations, no booze, an outside loo and cold showers.

The five in heaven have Ł400 to spend on booze and food this week.

They can also use the whirlpool bath and pool and have their underwear washed by Big Brother.

And last night they were allowed to watch round three of the Lewis-Tyson fight on a giant plasma telly. But they do not know the result.

Their housemates on the poor side can only look on in envy. They ate plain porridge for breakfast yesterday while watching their rich rivals feast on a full English.

Bad news for two flirting couples — Kate and Spencer and Adele and Lee — is that they have been split up by the barrier.

Despite being on the rich side, blonde Kate was heartbroken at being separated from Spencer.

The flirty pair sat close and stroked each other through the plastic bars until the early hours of Sunday.

After sinking wine, Kate moaned: “Big Brother, you cruel b******. How could you do this to us?”

Last night she was fined six cans of lager by Big Brother after she passed beer to Spencer in her mouth during a slobbery kiss through the bars.

Superfit Adele and Lee, who have admitted that they fancy each other, are also on opposite sides of the bars.

But Adele’s beautiful love rival Sophie is delighted because she now has Lee to herself for a week.

During a boozy late-night chat with Kate, Sophie confessed: “I think he is gorgeous. If I saw him walking down the street, I would think ‘phwoar’. If he didn’t have a girlfriend I would go for it. Over the next week I’m going to get to know him a lot better.”

Sophie claimed she would never make a move in respect for Lee’s girlfriend on the outside, Carmen.

But tellingly, she added: “We could be here for another six weeks and a lot could change over that time. Anything could happen.”

Sandy is separated from best pal Alex but cooped up on the same side as Jonny, despite the pair being at loggerheads. Sandy told Alex: “I don’t like him. I don’t want to talk to the guy and this week’s going to be hard.”

He has quickly found that riches do not bring happiness — saying he wants to quit the show because there is too much booze. He also said he was missing his wife.

But last night a Big Brother spokesman said: “He is feeling better about life in the house now.”

Sandy last night became the latest housemate to be ticked off for trying to pass things through the bars — after attempting to stash some food in the turn-ups of Adele’s trousers.

A Big Bruv insider said: “The bars have created a hell of a lot of tension. Things are set to explode between Sandy and Jonny.”

The inmates started a huge row when they learned of Big Brother’s plans to divide the house. A live basketball task on Saturday decided who would go to heaven and who to hell.

Adele warned: “It’s going to kick off in here” as an upset Spencer accused Sandy and Jonny of cheating.

Big Brother had said the first five housemates to throw the ball through the hoop would go into the rich side.

The boys drew straws to decide the order of play — but Sandy and Jonny muscled in so Spencer and PJ did not get a chance to take a shot.

Spencer was furious and ranted: “You cheated. It wasn’t your turn.”

He was so angry he suggested they kill the housemates’ chickens and destroy the vegetable patch.

Jade, on the poor side, blasted Lee and Jonny on the other side.

Ladbrokes paid out thousands after Alison got evicted on Friday. They had Alex as favourite for the boot.

Spencer, at 11/10, is still favourite to win BB followed by Jonny at 3/1.
