The Big Brother house was split into heaven and hell last night.

A work crew secretly moved in while the 10 contestants were locked in separate bedrooms and erected huge glass bars to cut the house in two.

The housemates were split into two groups of five after a basketball shooting contest.

Sandy, Kate, Lee, Sophie and Jonny were winners, while Spencer, PJ, Adele, Jade and Alex lost out.

The winning group will live in luxury for the next seven days - receiving £400 for food and booze, and access to all their belongings.

They will also be able to use all the house amenities, including comfy sofas and the swimming pool in the garden.

Rubbish

The others face a nightmare of no hot water, food budget and limited access to clothes and toiletries for a week.

Spencer and PJ did not get to have a shot because the five successful housemates scored with their first attempts. Adele, Jade and Alex missed their shots.

Loser Jade was upset the winners had so much cash to spend on drink. She said: "They'll waste it."

Winner Sophie almost sobbed: "It's my birthday tomorrow - we should all be together." Producers have five possible replacement contestants ready in case the five losers follow Sunita's lead and walk out of the house because of the new gimmick.

Earlier, randy PJ and Jade thrilled viewers with the first-ever on-screen Big Brother snog. But just as they got under the covers, kill-joy producers cut in with an ad break.

PJ and Jonny dared to strip off and skinny dip in the pool early yesterday.

Fellow housemates were in hysterics as they splashed around naked, while naughty Jade stole their shorts.
