GRAN GOES FOR BIG BRO Viewers to vote IN a new housemate CHANNEL 4 bosses last night unveiled their secret weapon in the ratings war between Big Brother 2 and Survivor. In a dramatic twist designed to spice up the show, they gave Big Brother viewers the chance to vote IN a new housemate last night. The three hopefuls are Annie, a 45-year-old granny who loves to go clubbing, Natasha, a 27-year-old model, and 32-year-old Josh, the director of a gay and lesbian property company. Channel 4 has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep their identities secret. All three were flown out of the country to a secret location. Voting lines opened on the three immediately after the show finished at 10pm last night, and they will enter the house after the first eviction on June 8. Presenter Davina McCall will announce the winner live on Friday's show. Once in the house, they will be eligible to scoop the pounds 70,000 prize. Big Brother producer Conrad Green said: "The viewers decide who's leaving the house - so we're giving them a say in who goes in." Nine million people tuned in to see Craig Phillips win last year's Big Brother. Just under six million are watching Survivor, but viewing figures are expected to rise as the 14 contestants left fight for the pounds 1million top prize. Another ploy to spice up the series is to give the show's house in East London a sexier feel. The housemates, who include lap dancer Amma Antwi-Agyei, and gay air steward Brian Dowling, now have a whirlpool bath, solarium and a wooden "nookie hut".
