BIG BRO BOSSES
By EMILY SMITH BIG Brother lined up a live sex show last night for TV's most outrageous scene ever. They set up a candlelit dinner for flirty Helen and Paul and ordered them to an intimate den in the hope millions would tune in to see them having sex. Bosses even RANG Helen's distraught boyfriend Gavin Cox and warned him his girlfriend could be bedded by Paul, her rival for the £70,000 Big Bruv prize. Last night, questions were being asked whether Channel 4 had gone too far in its chase for ratings as the show moves into its closing weeks. Gavin was shocked and furious after being told Helen and Paul were given two bottles of wine and their own space in the den - the "Nookie Room". And as the pair prepared for their big night, gay housemate Brian told viewers: "They need to shag each other stupid — think of the built-up tension." Helen — who faces eviction tomorrow — and Paul were given FIVE HOURS alone together as a reward for passing an assault course task. The other housemates were also paired off. Brian, 22, and fellow gay Josh, 32, were in the girls' room while Dean, 37, dined with Elizabeth, 26, on the terrace. But all eyes were on Helen and Paul — and Channel 4's digital service E4 last night had non-stop coverage as the sexual tension rose. Viewers saw Paul persuade the busty blonde to SLEEP next to him. She agreed to do it, but asked: "What will Big G (Gavin) say, do you think he'll mind?" Paul had greeted Helen by kissing her hand — and they agreed it was officially a date. They ate a three-course meal, washed down with French wine. Paul said: "When we get out of here I hope you'll be the same. You're an angel, you make me laugh." Blushing Helen asked him: "I'd be your ideal girlfriend wouldn't I?" Paul replied: "Yes." He added: "We should spend the night in the den, we should sleep here — it would be fun." He later held Helen in his arms and carried her over to the den's bed. But Helen, who seconds earlier teased him with two long hugs, pulled away. As Paul tried to lie next to her and take the frolic further, Helen got up and walked back to the table. Obediently sitting at the table, Paul asked Helen: "Am I in trouble for doing that? Helen replied: "No. Big G will be on his own watching us on E4 rolling around." Paul, concerned over Big G's reaction, said: "I'm worried I'm going to get my head smashed in when I leave this house." The pair — who had a bedtime pillow-fight the night before — spent most of yesterday preparing for their date. Welsh lass Helen helped Paul clear out the den. He joked: "We'd better tidy up those cushions because we'll be lying on them later." They dragged bedding into the den, then hairdresser Helen gave Paul, of Reading, Berks, a trim. Later, she practised archery with Paul. Before the meal, Helen said she would probably wed Gavin if he proposed. But she told housemate Brian: "Paul is in with a chance. A Big Brother wedding would be great." Big Brother bosses last night denied claims the "sex on a plate" scenario was a cynical ratings ploy, insisting it had been planned far in advance. Temperatures seem to cool between the pair late last night as Paull admitted Helen was not his "perfect girl". He said: "I don't know if I would trust you. I'm sorry, that's the way it is." Paul yawned and made his excuses, saying: "I'm tired." The pair then left the den.
